Community Engagement at
Hospice & Community Care
This year, we proudly celebrate 40 years of serving our community with hope, comfort, and compassion. Hospice & Community Care was created by and for this community, and our roots run deep. Thanks to your continued support—through volunteering, donating, and advocating—we remain steadfast in our mission to support patients and caregivers when they need it most.
We’re often asked how individuals, civic groups, or faith communities can join us in advancing our mission. Here are three impactful ways to make a difference:
Opportunities to Engage
-
Collect for the Caring Closet
The Caring Closet is one of our largest outreach programs, assisting over 3,000 individuals last year. We are always in need of medical equipment and supplies, especially incontinence supplies, which are critical and continuously needed.
We’re seeking congregations or groups to partner with us by hosting a monthly collection drive for pull-ups and other essential items. Together, we can ensure no one goes without these vital supplies. -
Fuel Families & Staff
At the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, we provide gathering areas for families and a “Charging Station” stocked with snacks and drinks for our hardworking staff. These spaces are vital for comfort and encouragement during difficult times.
Sponsor a Family Room or Charging Station: With a $500 donation, you can adopt one of these spaces for a month.
-
Donate a Recognition Meal
Our dedicated staff and volunteers are the heart of our organization. Throughout the year, we recognize their invaluable contributions with appreciation meals during special occasions like Nurses Week and Volunteer Appreciation Month. By donating a meal, you can help us express our gratitude for their compassionate work.
-
Sponsor an Event
In honor of our 40th anniversary, we are hosting a variety of community events to celebrate, remember, and give back. Each event provides unique sponsorship opportunities to support our mission.
Upcoming Events: Butterfly Release, Miles for Memories 5K, Homecoming, Lights of Love Tribute, Memorial Day Tribute, and Veterans Day Ceremony.
Be a Sponsor: Partner with us to make these events meaningful for our community while amplifying your support for Hospice & Community Care.
-
Comfort Food for Comfort Care
One of our greatest challenges is raising awareness and addressing misconceptions about hospice care. We invite faith and civic groups to join us on campus for a lunch-and-learn event. These gatherings provide an opportunity to connect, enjoy a meal, and learn more about the many resources we offer our community.
-
Request a Presentation
Our team would love the opportunity to share more about our mission with your group. We can provide informative presentations on:
Services: Palliative and hospice care.
Resources: The Caring Closet, Resale Shops, Veterans programs, Grief support, and more.
End-of-Life Planning: Guidance and resources for thoughtful preparation.
Invite us to speak at your next meeting or event and learn more about how we can support your group and the community.
