Project HOPE: Where Youth Learn to Grieve and Heal

Designed to encourage children experiencing grief related to loss, Project HOPE furnishes a safe, supportive environment for kids to embark on the journey through grief toward embracing life.

Art therapy activities and counselors help children realize that others are there to support them, and to reveal that while the grief experience is personal, others are going through it as well. A free series, Project HOPE is open to children and teens, ages 5-18, in our community who have lost a loved one to death.

Project HOPE allows youth to:
  • Tell their story in a safe environment
  • Process grief in healthy ways
  • Experience unique opportunities to increase hope & enhance self-esteem
  • Meet others facing similar circumstances
  • Learn they are not alone
  • Build a tool-box of coping skills
  • Honor & memorialize loved ones
  • Have fun!

Project HOPE is Thursdays, June 8, June 15, July 18, and July 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants may choose to attend any or all of the available sessions.

Registration is required. You may register online or by calling 803-329-1500.
