Spiritual Care Counselor (PRN)

Hospice & Community Care is seeking a qualified Spiritual Care Counselor to provide spiritual support to hospice patients and families during/after the hospice experience on a PRN or as needed basis.

The Spiritual Care Counselor is responsible for hospice patients and families home and in-patient settings. Works closely with patients, families, volunteers and the Clinical Team in providing spiritual counseling in keeping with patients’/families’ beliefs, education, and support. Work with staff, local clergy, and community groups to enhance their sensitivity to the spiritual concerns of patients/families experiencing terminal illness and loss. Facilitate visits by individuals who can best support the patient/family spiritual needs. The Spiritual Care Counselor provides follow-up and support through various agency activities. 

Position requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field with South Carolina licensure/certification as applicable to the degree.  Spiritual Care/CPE Training is preferred.  Experience working with individuals, leading groups through grief and loss programs is preferred. Experience in healthcare, home care, or hospice settings is preferred.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as reliable transportation required.
