Choosing Hospice Care: Ray Labbe

“Hospice & Community Care was able to help Ray fulfill one last wish – he wanted to visit his family in Massachusetts.”

Ray gained precious time with his family because of hospice care.

A diagnosis of cancer, admission to hospice care: these are hard pills to swallow. Accepting that you have limited time to live does not come easy, but Ray Labbe made the most of his last months. He spent time with his family, he completed tasks around the home, he made keepsake boxes for family members, and he built a bed for his son.

Hospice & Community Care was able to help Ray fulfill one last wish – he wanted to visit his family in Massachusetts. More than 150 people met Ray in Massachusetts for a reunion and he was able to take his son sledding – his favorite pastime. Through the support of his Hospice team Ray could make last memories with his family. Ray died on March 14 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 50 years old.
