About Care-a-Thon
For over 35 years, Hospice & Community Care has served as the area’s only non-profit, independent, community-based hospice care organization. Hospice is a special way of caring for the seriously ill. Whether at home, in skilled care facilities, or at our own Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, the focus is on treating the person, not the disease, while providing ongoing support for more quality days. We provide a myriad of services to our community and are dedicated to ensuring that patients do not fall through the cracks. But we can’t do it alone.
We are proud to present our network of caring community partners whose philanthropic support helps us ensure that local patients and their families have access to hospice care. This virtual celebration honors 35 years of caring for our community throughout the month of October. Funds raised through our Care-a-Thon celebration will directly support patient charity care – costs associated with caring for our growing number of uninsured and underinsured patients. Our charity care program adds sustainability to our organization by providing vital resources that ensure that quality end-of-life care is available to everyone.
